ClassChase is built to work without an account, a login, or Your name and email. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, the limited data the Service does handle and why.
Application or Service refers to ClassChase, the software program provided by the Company.
Company (referred to as "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") refers to ClassChase.
Country refers to: Texas, United States
Device Identifier means a random identifier generated on Your device the first time You open the Application and stored locally on that device. It is not derived from Your device's hardware, Apple ID, Google account, or any other identifier, and it is not linked to Your name, email address, or any other personal information.
Service Provider means a third-party company that helps Us operate the Service (for example, hosting Our database or delivering push notifications).
You means the individual using the Service.
There is no sign-up, login, or account of any kind. Instead, the first time You open ClassChase, the app generates a random Device Identifier and stores it on Your device. This identifier — not Your name, email, or any other personal detail — is what We use behind the scenes to remember Your tracked courses and preferences.
When You track a course section, We store the section (CRN), the academic term, and Your notification preferences (for example, whether You want to be alerted when a section opens, closes, or changes instructor), associated only with Your Device Identifier.
If You enable notifications, Your device registers a push token with Firebase Cloud Messaging, which We store alongside Your Device Identifier. This token exists solely to deliver the class-tracking alerts You've asked for and is not used for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
If You submit feedback through the app's Feedback screen, Your message, the category You selected, and Your Device Identifier are sent to Us by email so We can read and respond to it. Please don't include personal information in Your feedback that You don't want Us to have — anything You choose to type is on You.
Like virtually any online service, the infrastructure providers We rely on (described in Section 4) may automatically log standard technical information — such as IP address and request timestamps — for security and reliability purposes, in accordance with their own privacy practices. We do not access or use these logs to identify You.
We don't ask for or store Your name, email address, phone number, or any government ID. We don't use advertising identifiers (like Apple's IDFA), analytics SDKs, or crash reporting tools. We don't show ads. We don't sell Your data, and We don't share it with data brokers, advertisers, or business partners.
We use a small number of third-party services to run ClassChase, each of which processes data only on Our behalf and only as described above:
Supabase — hosts Our database (Device Identifiers, tracked courses, notification preferences, push tokens).
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to Your device.
Resend — delivers feedback messages to Our support inbox by email.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request from a public authority.
Data tied to Your Device Identifier (tracked courses, preferences, push token) is kept for as long as You continue using the app on that device. If You uninstall the app or stop using it, that data is no longer accessed and is periodically cleaned up. You can also contact Us at any time to have it deleted sooner.
Because there's no account to sign into, the simplest way to stop and remove Your data is to untrack Your courses and disable notifications in the app, or uninstall the app entirely. You can also email Us at support@classchase.app to request that Your Device Identifier and associated data be deleted from Our database.
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect the limited data We store, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and We can't guarantee absolute security.
ClassChase is intended for college students and is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If You are a parent or guardian and believe Your child has used the Service, please contact Us.
Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us, including RateMyProfessors and Texas A&M's own registration systems. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third-party site.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted via a notice in the app.
